Day 01: MUMBAI-UDAIPUR
Arrive Mumbai by LH-756 at 0100. Meeting upon arrival and transfer to HOTEL, where accommodation has been reserved from the previous night to ensure immediate occupancy.
Morning sightseeing tour of Bombay. The bustling city of Bombay now called Mumbai has a lot to offer. Visit the Prince of Wales Museum (Monday closed) where you will see an extensive collection of fascinating 18th & 19th century miniature paintings; elegantly carved ivory artworks; and a rich collection of Nepalese and Tibetan art, among other fine works of art. Also visit the Gateway of India overlooking the Harbor; and the Dhobi Ghat, the unique and colorful outdoor 'laundry'. Drive upto the Malabar Hill to the lovely Hanging Gardens and the Kamla Nehru Park from where you will get a wonderful view of Bombay and the Arabian Sea spread out before you. Also visit Mani Bhavan, a small museum dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi; and the bustling Crawford Market. Transfer from hotel to the airport in time for:

Day 02: UDAIPUR
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning, sightseeing tour of Udaipur. This is possibly the most romantic city in Rajasthan. There would be no doubt as to why it is called "The Venice of the East". Maharana Udai Singh founded the city in 1568. Udaipur is full of palaces, temples and havelis, ranging from the modest to the extravagant. Begin the tour with a visit to the City Palace. At this palace complex, you will marvel at the rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colored glass windows, inlaid marble balconies and the peacock courtyard. Also visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari gardens, the Jagdish temple and the local folk museum. Afternoon, we enjoy a motor launch cruise on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. One would get an interesting view of the Dhobi (laundry) ghats. Also visit the Jag Mandir Palace - a lovely island palace in the middle of the lake. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL.

Day 03: UDAIPUR-RANAKPUR
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning drive to Ranakpur (90 kms 2:30 Hrs), which has one of the biggest Jain temples in India. The Ranakpur complex lies in a remote and peaceful valley of the Aravalli ranges. Chaumukha (the four-faced temple), is dedicated to Adinath. Built in 1439, this huge, beautifully crafted and well-kept marble complex has 29 halls, supported by 1444 pillars, none of which are alike. Within the complex are two other Jain temples. Day 04: RANAKPUR-PUSHKAR
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning drive from Ranakpur to Pushkar (270 kms- 6 hrs) enroute visiting Ajmer The celebrated capital of the Rajputs and the key to Rajasthan, Ajayameru or "invisible hill" became Ajmer. It lies at the foot of the Taragarh hill 870 m above sea level and about 367 kms west of Agra. First, visit the Ana Sagar Lake built between 1135 & 1150 AD. The embankment has a row of elegant, polished marble pavilions built by Shah Jehan and restored in 1899 by Lord Curzon. Also visit Taragarh Fort. It is a rectangular fortress with thick walls and large corner bastions. The path to the top is rough, but the views are worth the effort. Proceed towards the dargah of Khwaja Muin-ud-Din Chishti (1143-1235), the tomb of a Sufi Saint of the first rank, known as the "Sun of the Realm of India", who came to Ajmer in 1192. Arrive Pushkar and check-in at Hotel Pushkar Resorts. Later proceed for a city sightseeing tour of Pushkar, visiting the temple of Lord Brahma, which is only one in India, followed by a visit to the sacred lake of Pushkar. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 05: PUSHKAR-JAIPUR
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning drive from Pushkar to Jaipur (150 Kms 3:30 hrs) Arrive Jaipur and Check-in at the Hotel Rajputana Sheraton Jaipur - The capital of Rajasthan, this picturesque city is a symphony in pink, a color which symbolises hospitality in Rajput culture. Built by Raja Jai Singh in the 18th century it is surrounded by hills topped with rugged fortresses and dotted with fairy tale palaces. Ambling camels and brightly dressed peasants, reflect Jaipur's desert heritage while teeming markets display a profusion of handlooms and crafts. Come visit the city of love, legends and lore. Rest of the day at leisure for inspection of the Hotels. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 06: JAIPUR
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast, you will enjoy an excursion to Amer Fort 12 kms outside Jaipur. Enjoy the ascent to the palace on back of a brightly caparisoned elephant. Tour the chamber and hallways of the palace which are famous for their design and decorations. This unique capital of the erstwhile warrior kings is a must on every tourist itinerary to the state. Afternoon you tour the walled city of Jaipur a shopper's paradise famous for handicrafts, jewellery and list goes on……. You also visit the unique Jantar Mantar magnificent stone observatory built by Raja Jai Singh in 1728. The Hawa Mahal, the intriguing "Palace of Winds" is really a facade built in 1799, to allow royal ladies to view the city from the windows. Visit the City Palace, former royal residence built in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style and its museums an excellent collection of miniature paintings, costumes and armoury. Day 07: JAIPUR-AGRA
Morning Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning drive from Jaipur to Agra 9258 kms 6 hrs) After Lunch proceed to Agra enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri This deserted, red sandstone city, built by Emperor Akbar, between 1570 and 1585, now glows in its magnificent past. Also visit the Bulund Darwaza (The Gate of Victory), set in the south wall. In the northern part of the courtyard is the superb white marble tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti, built in 1570. We continue our drive to Agra and upon arrival check-in at: HOTEL TRIDENT. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 08: AGRA-DELHI
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, we will experience the TAJ MAHAL (closed on Fridays). An extravagant marble monument of love, built by Shah Jahan in 1653 as a memorial to his queen Mumtaz Mahal.
Afternoon drive from Agra to Delhi (203 kms 5 Hrs) Delhi is the capital of India and it is 3rd largest city. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 09: DELHI-ABROAD
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. The tour will begin with a visit to The Jama Mosque built in 1650 AD, followed by a drive past to the breathtaking Red Fort (1639-48), built by Shah Jehan, creator of The Taj Mahal. Then we proceed on to Raj Ghat, which is the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. Check-Out 1200 Hrs. Afternoon, sightseeing tour of New Delhi, drive past Safdarjang's Tomb (1753 AD). Visit the Qutab Minar (72 m high) - the most perfect of towers of the Persian world. Within the Qutab complex, amidst the ruins of Quwat-ul-Islam mosque, stands the Iron pillar which has stood the variances of weather and has not rusted over 1500 years. The drive through New Delhi includes the Embassy area (Diplomatic enclave), Government buildings, India Gate, Sikh Temple (Bangla Sahib Gurudwara), Birla Temple and Connaught Place, New Delhi's main shopping area. Day 01: TRIVANDRUM-ALLEPEY
Arrive Trivandrum and transfer to Changnnaserry Jetty (156 Kms 4 hrs). Arrive and board the House boat. 900 kms. of dappled, green waters. Fringes of dense tropical greenery. Clear skies shimmering through coconut canopies.The largest backwater stretch in Kerala is the Vembanad lake which flows through three districts and opens out into the sea at the Kochi port. Overnight on board the House Boat. |
Day 02: ALLEPEY-COCHIN
Morning drive from Allepey to Cochin 63 Kms/01:30 Hrs. Arrive Cochin and Check-in at Hotel, Rest of the day at leisure.
Evening, witness the Kathakali dance performance, performed by various artists. Kathakali is a traditional dance form, depicting Indian epics (Ramayana and Mahabharata). The dancers are dressed in very colorful and elaborate costumes. Their faces are painted to depict various characters of these epics. This dance has a lot of facial expressions and brisk, yet articulate body movements. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 03: COCHIN
Morning, sightseeing tour of Cochin. Visit the Jewish synagogue (closed on Saturdays), built over 400 years ago. It contains beautiful Belgian glass chandeliers and is paved with hand painted tiles from China. Later, visit the "Dutch Palace" (closed on Fridays) with its wonderful murals depicting the entire story of the Ramayana. Proceed to see the St Francis Church (closed on Sundays), the first European Church built in India. Rest of the afternoon at leisure to explore the SPICE market. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 04: COCHIN-MUNNAR
Morning drive from Cochin to Munnar (145 Kms 4 Hrs). Afternoon Visit Munnar, headquarter town for the area of Western Ghats known as the "High Ranges", which is responsible for a good portion of South India's tea production. Opened up more than a century ago by planter pioneers, the region is described by a State Manual as having been "unexplored region, covered by thick, beaver-haunted forests, the abode of elephants, tigers, bison and leopards". Visit includes The Kundale Tea Plantation, Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajamalai Park and The High Range Club. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 05: MUNNAR-PERIYAR
Morning drive from Munnar to Periyar (90 kms 2.30 hrs) Arrive Periyar and check-in at the Hotel Afternoon cruise on the Periyar Lake, in the cool surroundings. The panorama spreads into tropical jungles, wild Elephants, Indian Gaur, Monkeys, spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Boar and birds of myriad varieties. Encompassing an area of 777 sq kms, the wildlife sanctuary lies at an elevation of between 914 meters and 1828 meters above sea level on the Periyar Lake in the hills of Western Ghats. Day 06: PERIYAR-KUMARAKOM
Morning drive from Periyar to Kumarakom(115 Kms 3.30 hrs). Arrive Kumarakom and check-in at the Hotel Afternoon Activities will be mostly water based, a canoe expedition via an intricate network of canals, through backwater villages where daily life continues unaltered, as it has for centuries. You will see lush palm groves and stretches of rice fields, while daily traffic, on the broader canals, of regular ferries and cargo boats will serve to emphasise to economic importance of these vital waterways. Day 07: KUMARAKOM-KOVALAM
