Day 01: ARRIVE DELHI
Capital of modern India "The Heart of India". Delhi is the city waiting to be explored, so enjoy!. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL.
Day 02: DELHI
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visiting The Jama Mosque built in 1650 AD after which you will take a rickshaw ride through the fabled Chandni Chowk (Moonlight square) which is the main area of the old city. Also visit the breathtaking Red Fort (1639-48) built by the builder of The Taj Mahal - Shah Jehan, which is famous for its delicately carved inlaid and Royal chambers. Then we proceed on to Raj Ghat - where the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi was cremated (1948 AD), Feroze Shah Kotla (1345 AD) - ruins of the oldest fortress and also the Ashoka pillar (300 BC).
Afternoon sightseeing tour of New Delhi, visiting Humayun's Tomb (1565 AD), aptly called the predecessor of The Taj Mahal. Drive past Safdarjang's Tomb (1753 AD), the Qutab Minar 72 meters high and one of the most perfect towers of the Persian world. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 03: DELHI-UDAIPUR
Transfer from hotel to the airport in time for:

Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer from airport to HOTEL. Breakfast at the Hotel.
Rest of the morning at leisure. Afternoon, you begin your tour with a visit to the City Palace. Afternoon, you begin your tour with a visit to the City Palace. Visit Temple of the Sun God, with its erotic sculptures. We also visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari gardens, the Jagdish temple and local folk Museum. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL.

Day 04: UDAIPUR
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, we enjoy a motor launch cruise on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. The beautiful Lake Pichola was enlarged by Maharana Udai Singh after he founded the city. The city palace extends a considerable distance along the east bank of the lake. From the boat you will be able to view the city of Udaipur as it rises majestically above the lake in the middle of the Rajasthan desert. One would get an interesting view of the Dhobi (laundry) ghats. Also visit the Jag Mandir Palace - a lovely island palace in the middle of the lake. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 05: UDAIPUR-JAIPUR
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer from hotel to the airport in time for :

Ar: JAIPUR at 0915 hours Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer from airport to HOTEL. Morning at leisure. We will also visit the unique Jantar Mantar magnificent stone observatory built by Raja Jai Singh in 1728. The Hawa Mahal, the intriguing "Palace of Winds" is really a facade built in 1799, to allow royal ladies to view the city from the windows. Visit the City Palace, former royal residence built in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style and its museums an excellent collection of miniature paintings, costumes and armoury. Day 06: JAIPUR
Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning, we will enjoy an excursion to Amer Fort 12 kms outside Jaipur. The original palace was built by Raja Mansingh the additions were made by Sawai Jai Singh. One of the finest example of Rajput architecture, it was the ancient capital of Kaisshawah rulers. Enjoy the ascent to the palace on back of a brightly caparisoned elephant. Afternoon free for Shopping. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL.

Day 07: JAIPUR-AGRA
Breakfast at the Hotel. We will drive from Jaipur to Agra (221 kms/6 hours) enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri. This deserted, red sandstone city, built by Emperor Akbar, between 1570 and 1585, now glows in its magnificent past. Also visit the Bulund Darwaza (The Gate of Victory), set in the south wall. In the northern part of the courtyard is the superb white marble tomb of Shaik Salim Chishti, built in 1570.
We continue our drive to Agra and upon arrival check-in at: HOTEL. Afternoon, we will visit the Taj Mahal (Friday closed) - one of the Seven Wonders of the World built by Emperor Shah Jehan in memory of his beloved consort Mumtaz Mahal. Also visit one of the important architectural monuments in Agra - The Agra Fort built by Emperor Akbar, the maze of courtyards; mosques and private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire. Day 08: AGRA-JHANSI-ORCHA-KHAJURAHO
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer from hotel to the Railway Station in time for:

Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer from Railway Station to Orcha (12 kms/0.30 hours).Arrive Orcha & proceed for sightseeing tour of Orcha. Overlooked by the modern era, this beautiful medieval town, was once the capital of Bundela Kings. Built along the banks of the river Betwa, flowing through a rugged century side, it still retains the captivating air of a bygone era. Amongst the various imposing edifices, of particular interest are the Jehangiri Mahal, built by Raja Bir Singh Deo to commemorate the visit of Moghul emperor Jehangir, the Raj Mahal and the Laxminarayan temple, both noted for their fine frescoes and mural paintingsOptional Lunch at ORCHA RESORTS. Day 09: KHAJURAHO-VARANASI
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of the famous Chandela Dynasty Temples which are set in a lovely grassy park. The Temples are quite amazing - rising in many peaks and spirals, intricately carved and designed with statues and friezes, some of which are the renowned erotic carvings. Ar: Varanasi at 1410 hours.
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer from airport to HOTEL enroute visiting the buried Buddhist city of Sarnath, just outside Varanasi - it's as holy to the Buddhists as Varanasi is to the Hindus. Here you will witness the ruins of a once flourishing Buddhist monastery and then visit a fine museum which houses an excellent collection of Buddhist art and sculpture. Day 10: VARANASI-DELHI
Early morning, drive to Daswamedh Ghat and take a boat ride on the sacred river Ganges. Continue by boat to see burning and bathing Ghats. Followed by sightseeing tour of the holy city of Varanasi. Visit to some of the many Hindu Temples that line the river Ganges. Stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars full of shops selling, among other things, the world-famous Banaras Silks. Day 01: ARRIVE BOMBAY

Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning, one hour boat ride across Bombay harbour brings to the green and lovely Elephanta Island (Monday Closed). Here visit some of the huge and intricately carved cave temples that date back to the 8th century, and which are dedicated to the Hindu Sun God - Shiva. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Bombay. Visit the Prince of Wales Museum (Monday closed) where you will see an extensive collection of fascinating 18th & 19th century miniature paintings; elegantly carved ivory artworks; and a rich collection of Nepalese and Tibetan art, among other fine works of art. Also visit the Gateway of India overlooking the Harbor; and the Dhobi Ghat, the unique and colorful outdoor 'laundry'. Drive upto the Malabar Hill to the lovely Hanging Gardens and the Kamla Nehru Park from where you will get a wonderful view of Bombay and the Arabian Sea spread out before you. Day 05: JAIPUR

Having achieved enlightenment at Bodhgaya, Buddha came to Sarnath to preach his message of the way to nirvana. Day 09: KATHMANDU
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of Kathmandu visiting the Durbar Square to see the fine examples of Nepalese architecture in Kathmandu's Palaces and pagodas. Also visit Ason Tole, a typical Nepalese market place. Afternoon, drive through the Nepalese countryside and visit Patan, known as the "City of Grace and Fine Arts". Here you will be able to see Patan's interesting and beautiful pieces of art and architecture. Also visit the particularly interesting Tibetan Refugee Craft Center. Also excursion to Bhatgaon (Bhaktapur-the City of Devotees) is a Centre of medieval art and architecture. Visit Durbar Square and Nyatapala Temple -- a 5 storied pagoda style temple. Day 10: KATHMANDU-LHASA (TIBET)

Day 11: LHASA
Breakfast at the Hotel. Full Day sightseeing of Lhasa. Sera Monastery: Located outside of Lhasa city proper is the home for 155 monks. It commands a spectacular View of Lhasa from its location at the foot of the Wudu Mountain. Drepung Monastery : This ancient structure is said to be largest monastery in the World which once housed 10,000 Lamas. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL.
Day 12: LHASA
Breakfast at the Hotel. Full Day sightseeing visiting :Potala Palace : a fortress built atop Red Hill in the seventh century which over the years became 13 story, 100 rooms citadel to the primary of Buddhism of Tibet. Lokhand Temple: This oldest Buddhist temple in Tibet (1300 years old) contains Tibet's most precious replica golden Shyakamuni Buddha, a gift of the Chinese princess Wen Cheng. This relic is displayed in the Great Hall and is still sought out by the religious pilgrims. OVERNIGHT AT THE HOTEL. |
Day 13: LHASA-KATHMANDU
